There are no short cuts done with clock repair at Times Right and that is why we can offer a two year guarantee on our repair work. Besides being a waste of your money and the clock stopping in a short period of time, a shabby repair would be detrimental to our reputation. Many of the clocks Times Right repaired in the 1980’s and 90’s are still running today.
Clocks repaired at Times Right are completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected for repairs needed. All clocks brought in for major repair are;
- Movement is completely disassembled and cleaned in our ultrasonic cleaner.
- After drying the parts, all parts are inspected for wear and repairs made.
- The movement is then reassembled and checked for worn bushings.
- It is then completely disassembled again and worn bushings are replaced using a bushing machine.
- With all repairs now done, the movement is reassembled, oiled and greased.
- Strike levers and gears are adjusted for proper hour and half hour strikes.
- If movement also chimes, levers and gears which control the chimes are adjusted.
- Movement is placed on a clock stand and tested out of its case and time is regulated.
- After a few days of out of case testing, the movement is then put back into its case for final time regulation.
- Once satisfied clock is keeping time, owner is notified for pickup.
- As owner is picking up clock, basic instructions are given covering final time regulation and running of clock.
